SHARON-William “Gnome” A. Miller Jr., age 68, passed away with family nearby, on the afternoon of Thursday August 22, 2024 at 3:26pm in his home, following a brief illness.
He was born in Sharon on March 26, 1956, the son of William A. Miller Sr. and Janet (Miller) Salsgiver. Bill was a 1974 graduate of Sharon High School and attended Penn State University before serving several years in the United States Navy.
He was a talented brick and block layer who helped to construct countless foundations and homes before his retirement.
“Gnome”, as he was known by his many friends, was an avid motorcyclist who loved taking the roads less traveled on his Harley Davidson.
He is survived by his wife of forty-two years, Cheryl E. Smith (Miller); his mother Janet Salsgiver; his sons Jason and Steven; grandchildren Joseph and Sierra, Brenden and Isaac; sisters Tricia Barovich and husband Joe, Lori Popovich, Cheryl Redmond and Kelly Moskal.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandparents Kenneth and Verla Unger and Arthur and Pearl Miller; Aunt Joan, Uncles Bob, Dick and Jack Miller, nephew Billy Brown.
A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday September 1, 2024 at 12:30pm in the First Baptist Church of Sharpsville at 185 Union St., Sharpsville, PA 16150. The Service will be followed by a luncheon, also at the Church.
Arrangements are handled by Sample-O’Donnell Funeral Home at 555 East State Street in Sharon, PA. Contributions in his honor and memory may be made to First Baptist Church of Sharpsville.
