HERMITAGE-Walter B. Grimm, passed away peacefully on Wednesday morning May 25, 2016 at his residence following a period of declining health.  He was eighty-nine years old.

Walter was born in Sharon on September 15, 1926 a son of the late Walter L. and Cora M. (Swartz) Grimm.

In 1943 he went off to serve Our Country in the United States Navy during World War II receiving the Pacific Theater Ribbon, American Theater Ribbon, and the World War II Victory Medal before his honorable discharge in 1946.

Following his return from the service he went on to marry his sweetheart the former Shirley J. Roberts on April 29, 1949 and together they would share over sixty-five years of marriage and their sons Walter and Richard.

Walter was a partner in his families’ business Grimms Inc. where he had served as vice president before his retirement.

He was a former member of the Free and Accepted Masons Lodge #250 and American Legion Post #299 both of Sharon.

Surviving are his sons Walter J. Grimm and his wife Tammy of Sharpsville, PA and Richard O. Grimm of Hermitage; and his grandchildren Micki Grimm, Jacob Grimm, Adam Grimm and Matthew Grimm.

He was preceded in death by his wife Shirley on March 28, 2015, his brother Jack L. Grimm, and his sister Verla Brest.

Friends may call on Saturday morning, May 28, 2016 from 9:30-11:30AM at the Sample-O'Donnell Funeral Home at 555 East State Street in Sharon, PA.

Funeral services will begin at 11:30AM at the funeral home with Rev. Cindy Rowe officiating.

Burial will take place next to his wife at Mount Washington Cemetery in Jefferson Township.
