Rose M. Stano

February 3, 1931 — February 13, 2023

HERMITAGE-Rose M. (Bronich) Stano, 92, of Hermitage, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 13, 2023, in St John XXIII Home, Hermitage.

Rose was born on February 3, 1931 in Farrell to Marco (Mike) and Elizabeth Yensick Bronich.  She was a life-long resident of the Shenango Valley, and made her home with her husband Walter on her family’s Hermitage farm.

Rose attended Hickory High School graduating in 1948 and was a member of the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Hermitage.

Rose’s greatest joy was caring for her husband Walter and her children.  The love for her family showed in everything she did from baking pies, cookies and nut roll to gardening and canning – she lived by her motto “always dessert with dinner”.  She would often be found on Walter’s construction sites being the primary painter and general helper.

Rose is survived by her son Michael and his wife Donna Dewey of Denver, Colo; and a daughter Sally Hale and her husband Stanley of Hermitage and her beloved nieces and nephews.

She was especially close to her niece Claudia Sussdorf who invited Rose on a once-in-a-lifetime vacation to Paris.  Her most cherished memories were those with Claudia, her twin Wendy, their sister Ellen and mom Eleanor and our family spending late summer days at the farm picking blackberries for pies, beautiful dinners, rides on the lawn mower, and catching fire flies.

In addition to her parents, Rose is preceded in death by her husband Walter whom she married on June 14, 1952.

The family would like to sincerely thank Linny, Laurie, Latasha, Shaina, Keyona and the entire staff of St. John XXIII Home for their love and care of our mom.  A special thanks to Ron for always making her feel loved.  We would also like to thank our dear friend Shirley Crook who made it possible for Mom to live at home as long as she could.

A private burial has taken place at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Hermitage.  Arrangements handled by the Sample-O’Donnell Funeral Home 555 East State St. in Sharon, Pennsylvania.
