HERMITAGE-Robert D. Lambrecht 91, of Hermitage, passed away Tuesday November 6, 2018 in the Sharon Regional Health System following a period of declining health.
He was born in Sharon, PA on September 21, 1927, a son of John and Edna (Knee) Lambrecht.
Bob was a graduate of Sharon High School and went on to proudly serve in the U.S. Army during World War II in the Pacific Theater. He received an honorable discharge as well as the World War II Victory Medal and the Army of Occupation Medal.
Following his discharge, he furthered his education at Bowling Green University where he graduated in 1952 with his degree in accounting. Bob worked for the former Westinghouse Company accounting department where he would retire in 1984 with thirty-two years of service. He also continued to work in his field at the Greenwood Pharmacy for another eight years before finally retiring in 1992.
Bob served as the Director of Oakwood Cemetery and the Westinghouse Retirees Association. He was also longtime member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Hermitage where he had served as Treasurer and Deacon.
He is survived by his nephews Bruce Lambrecht and his wife Hillary, Paul Lambrecht and his wife Ginger, Charles Lambrecht and his wife Nan, Kurt Lambrecht and his wife Amy, and John Kjos and his wife Rhonda; his cousin Darl Black and his wife Marilyn; and by his honorary family Diane Miller, Jayne Garrett, and Lori Morganti, and his Goddaughter Kerry Kushner.
He married his sweetheart the former Barbara Funck on November 10, 1956 and together they would share forty-two years before she preceded him in death March 19, 1999. He was also preceded in death by his brother Arthur G. Lambrecht and his wife Sally and his sister Jane L. Kjos.
Friends may pay their respects on Sunday afternoon from 1:00-3:00PM at the Sample-O’Donnell Funeral Home 555 East State Street Sharon, PA 16146.
Funeral services will be held beginning 3:00PM in the funeral home with Rev. Dr. Ericjon Thomas, Pastor of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, Hermitage, officiating.
Burial will take place at Oakwood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the church memorial fund at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ 159 Todd Avenue Hermitage, PA 16148.
