Mary E. (Libengood) Larson

August 3, 1942 — September 10, 2016

SHARON-Mary E. Larson, 74, passed away peacefully on Saturday afternoon September 10, 2016 at Clepper Manor following a period of declining health.

Mary was born in Greenville, PA on August 3, 1942 a daughter of the late Clarence and Maude (Haag) Libengood.

She attended Mercer High School and had been a devoted homemaker to her family.  Mary was a gifted caregiver and cherished her times caring for little children and the elderly.  She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, and working word search puzzles.

Mary was a former member of the Shepard of the Valley Pentecostal Holiness Church  where she had taught Sunday School for preschoolers and had helped with the kitchen crew. She had more recently been attending Victory Christian Center in New Wilmington.

She will be sadly missed by her children Tammy Cannon and her husband Robert of Clintonville, PA, Tracy Hughes and her husband Robert of Hermitage, PA and Randy Hedglin and his wife Jeanne of Mercer, PA; her siblings Fred Libengood of Minnesota, David Libengood of Virginia, Cleda Bell of Worthington, PA, and Betty Libengood of Ford City, PA; as well as her nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and one great-grandchild still on their way.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband George Larson, her parents and her mom Hattie Libengood, her brothers William and Henry Libengood, and her infant daughter Carol.

Memorial services will be held at 6:30PM on Thursday September 15, 2016 at Victory Christian Center New Wilmington Campus located at 22 Victory Lane New Wilmington, PA 16142 with Pastor Rob Cypher officiating.  Friends may visit with her family beginning at 5:30PM prior to the start of the service.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Sample- O'Donnell Funeral Home at 555 East State Street in Sharon, PA.

Burial will take place at the Shenango Valley Cemetery in Greenville.

In honor of Mary’s memory, donations may be made to the Victory Christian Center New Wilmington Campus or Immanuel Baptist Church.
