Julia M. (Abate) Davis

Julia M. Davis, 82 formerly of West Middlesex, PA, passed away peacefully at Nugent’s Care Center early Friday morning November 20, 2015 following a sudden illness.  She was eighty-two years old.

Julia was born in Farrell on September 7, 1933 the daughter of Achille and Mary Rose (Bianco) Abate.

She was a 1951 graduate of Farrell High School and went on to marry her sweetheart James N. Davis on August 18, 1951.  Mrs. Davis had worked for L.P. Bruno Jewelers when they were in Hermitage for twelve years but had spent the majority of her life being a devoted homemaker and mother to her beloved family.

She will be sadly missed by children James N. Davis II and his wife Beth of Columbia, MD, Michael R. Davis of Las Vegas, NV, Jason M. Davis and his wife Lori of Pulaski, PA, and Cynthia L. Davis and her husband James Douds of Sharon, PA; two grandchildren Jason M. Davis II and Kara Moore both of West Middlesex; her great-grandson Austin Moore; and by her brother Pat Abate and his wife Betty of Columbus, OH.

Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by her husband of nearly sixty-two years James who passed away on August 7, 2013, her parents, and by her brothers Thomas Abate and by two brothers in Italy.

Funeral services will be held on Monday evening November 23, 2015 beginning at 7:00PM at the Sample-O’Donnell Funeral Home 555 East State Street Sharon, PA.

Friends may call from 5:00PM to 7:00PM prior to the services.

A private burial will take place next to her husband at Mount Washington Cemetery.
