YORK- John H. Dunkerley, 101, passed away peacefully under the care of Hospice on Saturday afternoon December 17, 2016.
John was born on April 21, 1915 in Sharon, PA, the son of Jess and Martha (Rankin) Dunkerley.
He served in the Army during World War II, and was employed at Westinghouse Electric for many years. He was a lifelong Cleveland Browns fan, and he enjoyed fly fishing and flying his own plane.
He leaves behind his daughters Diane L. Anderson of Fountain Valley, California, Jane D. Ardner of York, PA; his son James R. Dunkerley of Milwaukee, WI; and three grandchildren, Isabel Dunkerley, and Timothy and Laura Ardner
He was preceded in death by his wife of nearly forty-seven years, the former Anne Tatalovich whom he married on October 27, 1951 who passed away on September 25, 1998; his brother, Kenneth Dunkerley, and his sister, Charlotte Zuschlag.
Arrangements are under the care of the Sample-O’Donnell Funeral Home in Sharon. Private services will be at the convenience of the family.
Burial will take place at America’s Cemetery formerly Hillcrest Memorial Park in Hermitage, PA.
