Janet J. (Snyder) Sexton

Janet J. (Snyder) Sexton formerly of 653 Carnegie Street in Sharon passed away peacefully at 1:08AM on Tuesday March 1, 2016 at her residence in Garden Way Place in Hermitage following an extended illness.  She was eighty-four years old.

She was born in Pittsburgh on October 3, 1931 the daughter of the late George and Janet (Kennedy) Snyder.

Janet will be missed and remembered lovingly by her family, friends, and neighbors.

She leaves behind to cherish her memories her son William Jena and his wife Kathleen of Sharpsville, PA, her daughter Karen Pierce of Slippery Rock, PA; her sister Carol Gossett of Sharon, PA; five grandchildren whom she was especially proud of Jennifer Jena O’Toole of Pittsburgh, Carolynn Jena Abbott and her husband Matt of Evans City, PA, Josh Pierce and his wife Greta, Beth Pierce Micco and her husband Tom all of Slippery Rock, PA, and Wyatt Pierce of Tennessee. Janet is also survived by her niece Kimberly Gossett and by seven soon to be eight great-grandchildren Lennon and Marshal Pierce, Mackenzie and Finnegan O’Toole, Elliott and Mallory Micco, and Max Abbott.

Janet was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers David and Richard Snyder, and by her son-in-law Jeffery Pierce.

Family and friends may gather at the Sample-O’Donnell Funeral Home 555 E. State St., Sharon, PA from 2:00-4:00PM on Saturday March 5, 2016. A memorial service will begin at 4:00PM in the funeral home chapel.

Burial will take place privately at America’s Cemetery in Hermitage, PA.

In lieu of flowers, it is suggested that any memorial contributions be made in Janet’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association or to the charity of the donors choice.
