George R. Fahnline

George Robert Fahnline, age 80 of Centerville, Ohio passed away Friday evening May 6, 2016 at the Overlook Nursing Home in New Wilmington, PA.  He had been in declining health for the past three years and his wife Ann in Centerville, OH had been preparing to join him there in New Wilmington.

George was born in Sharon on September 21, 1935 a son of John and Helene (Stewart) Fahnline Jr..  He was a 1953 graduate of Sharon High School, attended Culver Military Academy, and graduated in 1958 from Brown University with a degree in Political Science.

He was a Federal Employee working as a Contract Specialist at the Defense Electronic Supply Center in Kettering, Ohio for thirty-one years.  Following his time there her would spend an additional five years at the Joint Logistics Center at Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Fairborn, Ohio.

George was a member of the Southminster Presbyterian Church in Centerville, OH, the Washington Township Enrichment Center, and the Sons of the American Revolution.  He was fond of playing bridge and spent countless devoted hours working on his family genealogy.  George also enjoyed helping others trace their lines of descent.

He is survived by his beloved wife of fifty-four years Ann Hoffman Fahnline; sister Mrs. James (Nan) Warren of New Wilmington, PA; two brothers Richard H. Fahnline of New Wilmington, PA and Donald C. Fahnline of Altoona, PA; his sister-in-law Arlene Hazlewood of Wilton, CT; and two nieces, five nephews, a great-nephew, and four great-nieces.

George was preceded in death by his parents and by his brother-.in-law James Warren.

A graveside service for George will be held at 2:00PM on Friday May 13, 2016 at the Oakwood Cemetery in Sharon with Rev. Dr. Glenn M. Hink of the First Presbyterian Church of Sharon officiating.

If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donors choice in George’s honor.
