LAKE LATONKA, PA-Edward F. Shaginaw 93, of Lake Latonka, passed away Monday September 17, 2018 in his residence following a period of declining health.
He was born in Pittsburgh, PA on August 2, 1925, the son of Peter and Anna (Biertich) Shaginaw.
Ed was a graduate of Oliver High School and went on to proudly serve in United States Navy during World War II as a Radioman 2nd Class. He received his honorable in November of 1946 along with the World War II Victory Medal, American Campaign Medal, and the Pacific Theater Ribbon with three bronze stars.
Following his discharge, he would work for the Pittsburgh Police Department for many years before his retirement at the rank of Sergeant.
He leaves behind his daughters Alicia Ring of La Jolla, CA, Janice Branson and Judy Namisnak both of Pittsburgh, PA; seven grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife of sixty-eight years the former Joann Trembulak, his daughter Andrea Shaginaw, brothers Peter and Frank, and his sisters Annie and Margaret.
Private arrangements are under the care of the Sample-O’Donnell Funeral Home 555 East State Street Sharon, PA 16146.
Burial will take place at his family cemetery in Virginia.
