Clinton E Dixon

October 28, 1919 — December 3, 2015

Clinton E. Dixon of Sharon, passed away peacefully at Thursday afternoon December 3, 2015 in the Sharon Regional Health System.  He was ninety-six years old.

Mr. Dixon was born in Six Mile Run, PA on October 28, 1919 the son of Joseph C. and Rose J. (Clark) Dixon.  He was a graduate of Broad Top High School and would study drafting at the Williamsport Technical School before he married his sweetheart the former Isabel F. Taylor on May 13, 1944.  Together they would share over fifty-four years and their two children Sharon and David.

Clinton was a fine example of living a true Christian lifestyle throughout his life.  His dedication to his family, his church, and his community were steadfast as a founding member of the Valley Church of God where over the course of sixty-eight years he had served as Treasurer, Secretary, and Sunday School Teacher.  During his free time, he enjoyed being outdoors as an avid hunter and fisherman.

He retired from the former Westinghouse Plant in 1982 as a mechanical draftsman after forty years of dedicated service.

He leaves behind to carry on his memories his daughter Sharon Roberts of Sharon, his son David Dixon and his wife Helen of West Virginia; his sister Fern Dixon of Six Mile Run, PA nine grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren and by his great-great-grandson.

Clinton was preceded in death by his wife Isabel on August 21, 1998; his brothers Carl, Cleveland, and Luther Dixon; sisters Leila Black, Lillian Mitchell, Lena Mathes, and Fay Black.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday December 8, 2015 beginning at 1:00PM at the Sample-O’Donnell Funeral Home 555 East State Street Sharon, PA.  Friends and family may call one hour prior to the start of the services.

A private burial will follow next to his wife at Morefield Cemetery in Hermitage.
