POLAND-Alice E. Bowers 76, passed away peacefully under the care of Hospice House on Thursday evening December 8, 2016 following a brief illness.
She was born in Sharon on June 18, 1940 a daughter of Ralph and Anna Mae (Brown) Sunderlin. Alice was a graduate of Sharon High School and went on to graduate from Edinboro University.
Mrs. Bowers taught third grade for West Middlesex Schools until her retirement. She enjoyed working with ceramics, bowling, listening to Gospel Music, and traveling to camp in the Allegheny’s. Alice loved spending time at her camper at Lake Erie, but above all she was deeply devoted to her cherished family.
She will be sadly missed by her daughter Diana Stupka of Austintown, OH, Linda Zanolli of Brookfield, OH, Tina Bowers of Youngstown, OH and Penny Bowers of Sharon; her brother Ralph Sunderlin of Sharon, PA; six grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandson also survive.
Mrs. Bowers was preceded in death by her husband Carl A. Bowers and by her sister Jean First.
Friends may call on Tuesday evening December 13, 2016 from 4-7:00PM at the Sample- O'Donnell Funeral Home at 555 East State Street in Sharon, PA. Funeral services will begin at 7:00PM at the with Captain Michael Jung, from the Salvation Army, officiating.
Burial will take place at Oakwood Cemetery.
